Going home with your new puppy :
Questions I get asked daily:
Once you sign the guestbook you will then get e-mails from me informing of pregnancy's, ultrasound results and new puppy's that were born. I show the pups at approximately 3 weeks. I will send everyone the e-mail telling you the puppy show date, from there you call to make your appointment usually on a Saturday.....I will schedule enough people never exceeding more then half of the pups available.
You then come for your scheduled appointment, I ask that you come with freshly clean clothing and fully disinfected, I trust that your not coming from another facility, kennel, shelter ect. You will be asked to take off your coats and shoes outside the door.....you must know people are the main reason why transfers of viruses and bacterias come from our interactions.. You will be asked again prior to coming in to my home to wash hands with a hand sanitizing agent. You then pick the puppy of choice .....leave a deposit ........ then from there on out we offer visitations daily till departure, but I ask you.... just call ahead.
Your puppy was weaned at about 5 weeks from there mommy's so no need to worry about your puppy missing her, but will miss there siblings as they keep each other busy. Now it becomes all about you: Play and plenty of sleep! The pups will need to be fed 3 times a day on the right food they were raised with along with there mothers. when they are done feeding its potty time usually 10 minutes after. Crate sizing should be the size of an adult! Vets push the fact that the puppy will not potty on bedding this is not true at all! vets are trained to medically treat the canine not raise it. There bladders are not developed at all until they are almost 6 months old. You will get a large or extra large depending on how much room you have in your home,I actually recommend baby gating off an area that is safe and all cords and things that are not for her/him put away or safely out of reach. if crate training you put your bedding in the front of the crate and use paper towards the back, they are used to going on the paper as we use shredded newspaper for our bedding in the beginning and then dust free big shaving chips there after. When the pups are ready to leave they will have 2 sets of a three set shot series so still they are only about 85% covered i ask you wait to show off your pup at playgrounds or stores till the last shot series is given by your vet. When you pick up your pup to go home you will get a health chart with all vaccines and wormings given.......you need this for your vet visit......this is your pre-purchase exam, Your pup has to be 100% or exchange of another puppy when available. Make your appointment before bringing the pup home as we all know the availability of some veterinarians can be challenging. I am here for any questions at any time.......Remember this: NO QUESTION IS A BAD QUESTION!.
Dont feel stupid ask questions.....This is why i have offered the forum on my site as well ......to help
